Below is a Jobs to be Done Template for an Instagram strategy.
This template is based on the “first stage” strategy I built for an electronic music artist. Who was seeking to kickstart their career in the Los Angeles electronic music scene using Instagram. This basic structure and method can be applied to any market.
Job Performer = Cultural enthusiasts.
Job to be Done = Experience new artist discovery in the Los Angeles electronic music scene.
Market Statement = Cultural enthusiasts trying to experience new artist discovery in the Los Angeles electronic music scene.
For the stage of this artist’s career and their goal. I found it best to begin targeting and testing the performance of content crafted for the “locate” stage.
For increasing follower base, content was created which targeted persona one and two in the first target segment using reels crafted for the “Locate” job step. Strategy was then optimized by shifting focus to the persona which resonated best with the audience in this job step.
Engaging organically with persona three in the second target segment helped create an organic community who is more likely to be engaged.
